Common errors and how to resolve them.

Connection Errors

"Unable to connect to server"

Causes:

• Internet connection issues
• Server maintenance

Solutions:

1. Check your internet connection
2. Refresh the page and try again
3. Wait a few minutes and retry

"Request timeout"

Causes:

• Slow internet connection
• Very long content

Solutions:

1. Check your connection speed
2. Try summarizing a shorter page first
3. Reload the extension

Authentication Errors

"Session expired"

Solutions:

1. Click Sign In again
2. Clear browser cookies for 5minread
3. Try a different browser

"Authentication failed"

Solutions:

1. Check your email and password
2. Try Forgot Password to reset
3. Use a different sign-in method (Google vs Email)

Content Errors

"Unable to summarize this page"

Causes:

• Page requires login
• Content is blocked by paywall
• Page has no readable content
• Unsupported content type

Solutions:

1. Make sure you're logged into the target site
2. Try copying text to the web app manually
3. Check if the page has actual article content

"No transcript available" (Videos)

Causes:

• Video has no captions
• Captions are disabled by creator

Solutions:

1. Try a different video with captions
2. Check if YouTube auto-captions are available
3. Videos without transcripts cannot be summarized

"Content too long"

Causes:

• Page exceeds your plan's limit

Solutions:

1. Try a shorter page
2. Upgrade to a higher plan
3. Copy a portion of the content to summarize

Extension Errors

Extension not responding

Solutions:

1. Click the extension icon to refresh
2. Disable and re-enable the extension
3. Restart your browser
4. Reinstall the extension

Extension not detecting page

Solutions:

1. Refresh the page
2. Wait for page to fully load
3. Check if site is in blocked list

Limit Errors

"Daily limit reached"

Solutions:

1. Wait for daily reset (shown in popup)
2. Use cached summaries (free)
3. Upgrade your plan

"Video too long"

Solutions:

1. Upgrade for longer video support
2. Find a shorter version of the content

The extension uses specific error codes. Below is a reference of common codes and their meaning.

PLAN_LIMIT_EXCEEDED	Plan limit exceeded. Upgrade your subscription.
DAILY_LIMIT_EXCEEDED	Daily limit exceeded. Try again tomorrow.
INSUFFICIENT_TOKENS	Not enough tokens for this operation.
MODULE_NOT_AVAILABLE	Feature not available in your current plan.
PRESET_LIMIT_REACHED	Custom preset limit reached. Upgrade for more.
FOLDER_LIMIT_REACHED	Folder limit reached. Upgrade for more folders.
RESEARCH_LIMIT_REACHED	Project limit reached. Upgrade for more projects.
SOURCES_LIMIT_REACHED	Sources limit reached for this project.

AUTO_HIGHLIGHT_REQUIRES_PRO	Auto-highlight requires PRO or MAX plan.
AUTO_TIMESTAMPS_REQUIRES_PRO	Auto-timestamps requires PRO or MAX plan.
PREMIUM_TTS_REQUIRES_PRO	Premium TTS requires PRO or MAX plan.
MODEL_NOT_AVAILABLE	AI model not available in your plan.
FILES_NOT_ALLOWED	File processing requires PRO or MAX plan.
PRESET_NOT_AVAILABLE	Custom presets not available on FREE plan.
FOLDER_NOT_AVAILABLE	Folders not available on FREE plan.
RESEARCH_NOT_AVAILABLE	Research feature requires PRO or MAX plan.

Authentication Errors

Code	Description
UNAUTHORIZED	Please log in to continue.
INVALID_CREDENTIALS	Invalid email or password.
EMAIL_NOT_VERIFIED	Please verify your email first.
INVALID_RESET_TOKEN	Expired password reset link. Request a new one.
USER_BANNED	Account banned. Contact support.
VERIFICATION_RATE_LIMITED	Wait before requesting another verification email.

Content & Service Errors

Code	Description
AI_SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE	AI service temporarily unavailable. Try again later.
AI_SERVICE_ERROR	Failed to process request. Try again.
AI_CONTEXT_TOO_LONG	Content too long to process. Try shorter content.
TTS_SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE	TTS service temporarily unavailable.
CONTENT_SCRIPT_NOT_LOADED	Reload the page to use the extension.
INVALID_FILE_TYPE	Invalid file type. Allowed: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP.
FILE_TOO_LARGE	File too large. Maximum size is 5 MB.

Payment Errors

Code	Description
PENDING_PAYMENT_EXISTS	Pending payment exists. Complete or cancel it first.
SAME_PLAN_SELECTED	Already subscribed to this plan.
INVALID_CARD_NUMBER	Invalid card number.
INVALID_EXPIRY	Invalid expiration date.

Rate Limiting

Code	Description
RATE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED	Too many requests. Wait a moment.
PUBLISH_LIMIT_REACHED	Daily publish limit reached. Try tomorrow.
INSTALL_LIMIT_REACHED	Daily install limit reached. Try tomorrow.
