Manual Highlights
Select and save any text from a web page as a highlight.
Overview
Manual Highlights let you select any passage on a web page and save it to your collection. Unlike Auto Highlights, you decide exactly what to capture. Saved highlights are visually marked on the page and available in your history.
How to Save a Highlight
Select text on any page and use the floating popup to save it. See Text Selection → Highlight for the full details on the selection toolbar and available options.
- Select text on any web page
- Click Highlight in the floating selection popup
- Choose a tag and folder, then click Save highlight
- The text is saved and marked on the page
Highlight Colors
Assign a color to categorize your highlights visually:
| Color | Suggested Use |
|---|---|
| Purple | Key ideas, main points |
| Blue | Data, facts, references |
| Green | Definitions, explanations |
| Orange | Action items, to-dos |
| Pink | Quotes, memorable phrases |
Colors are personal — use them however works best for you.
Viewing Saved Highlights
Saved highlights are available in:
- Extension popup — Saved Highlights section, grouped by source URL
- Web dashboard — History > Highlights tab

Editing a Highlight
- Click on a highlight marker on the page
- The Edit Source popup opens
- Change the color or update the note
- Click Save
Deleting a Highlight
- Click on a highlight marker on the page
- The Edit Source popup opens
- Click the trash icon to delete
- The highlight is removed from the page and your collection
